The short version
Every Street Guide sets no advertising or tracking cookies, runs no analytics of its own, and asks you for nothing. We store one thing in your browser: the privacy choice you make in the banner, so we do not ask again.
Two outside services can be contacted, both only after you allow them, and both only for maps. Separately, Cloudflare, which delivers the site, adds Cloudflare Web Analytics: it measures page performance and visits without cookies, and the banner cannot switch it off. Nothing else on this site talks to anyone but us.
Who is responsible
Every Street Guide is published by Adept IT Consultants (UK) Ltd, which is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office. It is the data controller for what this page describes.
What we store in your browser
One entry in local storage, named “adeptplaces-consent-v1”. It holds only your answers to the banner — whether you allowed analytics and whether you allowed embedded maps — and nothing else. No identifier, no visit history, no profile.
It stays until you clear your browser's site data; local storage has no expiry date. It never leaves your browser: the site is static files, so there is no server to send it to.
If you block site data entirely, the site still works. We simply cannot remember your choice, so the banner asks again on your next visit.
We run no analytics of our own
There is no analytics product of ours on this site — not Google Analytics, not a self-hosted alternative, none. We add no counting code to the pages.
Cloudflare, which delivers the site, does add one: Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script that measures page performance and visits without cookies. Cloudflare adds it when it serves a page, so it runs whether or not you have used the banner, and the site cannot hold it back. What Cloudflare records is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
The banner offers an analytics toggle because the mechanism exists and may one day be used. Today it controls nothing of ours, and it does not control the Cloudflare measurement. We would rather say that than imply we are carefully gating something we do not control.
Who else your browser can be made to contact
Exactly two that you can allow or refuse, both for maps, and neither before you allow it. Until then the map is a still placeholder that names the service it would contact. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, is a third party you cannot refuse here: see “We run no analytics of our own”.
- OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org)
- Serves the map tiles for the interactive maps on area and venue pages. Only after you allow “Embedded maps & media”, and only once you scroll a map into view. Decline, and no request is ever made.
- Google Maps (maps.google.com)
- Serves the embedded map shown inside some articles. Only after you allow “Embedded maps & media”, or click “Load map” on that specific embed. The click is itself the permission for that one map.
Where the site is hosted
The site is a set of static files served through Cloudflare, from addresses under everystreetguide.com. Pictures are served from our own media address under the same domain, not from a third party.
We add no analytics or logging of our own: apart from the two map services above, which you must allow first, nothing we have added to these pages reports your visit to anyone else. Cloudflare Web Analytics, described under “We run no analytics of our own”, is added by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare handles each request in order to deliver the files, which involves your IP address. What it records, and for how long, is governed by Cloudflare's own terms and privacy policy; nothing in this site configures or reads it.

Your data-protection rights
To ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used, write to privacy@everystreetguide.com.
The site holds nothing that identifies you: the only entry in your browser is your banner choice, which never leaves your browser. The personal data we are likely to hold is email you have sent us, so please write from the address you used and we can find it.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK data-protection regulator, if you think we have handled your personal data unlawfully.
Advertising
No advertising is served on this site today. Two spaces are reserved in the page layout for future advertising, and they are empty — no ad script is loaded and no ad network is contacted.
When that changes, this section will say what the network does and what it stores, and advertising will have its own entry in the consent banner, separate from maps: agreeing to see a map is not agreeing to be advertised at.
